Introduction to Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is produced by bonding two or more panes of glass with one or more layers of a tough, thermoplastic interlayer, such as polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or a high-performance ionomer like SentryGlas Plus (SGP), through a controlled process of high heat and pressure.
This process creates a permanent bond between the glass and the interlayer, forming a single composite unit that provides enhanced safety and structural stability. In the event of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragments together, preventing them from scattering and reducing the risk of injury.
